The thing that I think is particularly great about KOTOR is the approach to choice and consequence - there is real scope to approach missions in different ways in both games and this aspect is very entertaining. If you treat it as a real-time strategy game based on dice rolls you will enjoy it for the great game that it is. If you go into it to play like Mass Effect you will no doubt think it's super clunky and dated. This all depends on if you enjoy classic, heavily D&D inspired RPGs in the vein of Baldur's Gate etc.
